This summer, I had the privilege of working with the talented Jasmin Chang of Nice Think, a bi-coastal creative agency, on TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint. TASTE, in it's 6th year, is a food festival/culinary benefit for the Northside Town Hall, a community center in Williamsburg.
Aside from illustrating the website and some of the other print materials for the festival, I created a backdrop for a photo booth at the event. Finding foods to illustrate from each participating restaurant was a true test in willpower and endurance. I think I heard somewhere, you can gain weight just by looking at pictures of food?? Definitely true in this case.
Toward the end, I got to hang out at the photo booth with some awesome friends.
Below, working in the studio, it was a challenge not to pause to seek out cupcakes, Pies 'n' Thighs chicken biscuits, or Meatball Shop sliders. And now that I've been to TASTE, I can definitely say Pies'n'thighs was good, but my favorite was the warm date cake with toffee sauce from Cafe Moto. Oh man.. gotta go check them out soon.
All photos except the last one are by Bethany Michaela, one of my favorite Brooklyn photographers. (She travels too!)
